Bill Posters? Seriously?

IN THE OLDEN DAYS, A REGULAR JOKE IN COMICS (SUCH AS THE DANDY OR BEANO) WAS ABOUT BILL POSTERS BEING INNOCENT.

[photo of shop window - Bill Posters will be proscecuted]Well this old joke is alive and kicking.  But then again, how could someone resist the programmed response to a poster stating, Bill Posters will be prosecuted. I’d find it difficult to resist myself!

Things are getting worse when companies who do not want their properties defaced by posters (or graffiti for that matter), put up the classic, “Bill Posters will be Prosecuted” poster. In this day-and-age — who’d have thought it?

Banking Madness

WE ALL KNOW VERY WELL ABOUT THE TROUBLES OF THE GLOBAL ECONOMY AND THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY BANKERS.

[First Direct Bank website]We have austerity measures, and demand more caution from our banks – they ought to be more careful with our money, and operate in a responsible and reasoned manner.

Imagine, therefore, my surprise when I visited First Direct’s website for on-line banking [Please click on the image to enlarge]. It states:

“We’ll give you £100 if you like us, £200 if you don’t”

Things are getting worse when banks want to give you £200 to stop banking with them.

A Shawlands Welcome

IN THE HEYDAY OF  SHAWLANDS ARCADE, CAR PARKING WAS COMPLETELY FREE, BUT NOT NOW.

[Shawlands Car Park Notice]Now that the whole place is run down, and the car park is a very scary place, you have to pay. This is part of the “improvements” promised by the council.

What amazed me the most about the car park notice was that there are no concessions for disabled people!

Things are getting worse in Shawlands, especially if you are disabled and want to shop in the few remaining units.

“Wine”

GETTING WORSE  OFTEN POSTS ABOUT PUNCTUATION, ESPECIALLY IN PUBLIC NOTICES.
